Every piece has a place at the table.

Rimantique is a curated vintage tableware shop run by Rimma, based in Vaughan, Ontario. Every piece is personally sourced — from estate sales, auctions, and private collections — cleaned, photographed, and assessed before it makes the cut.

The curation is the product. A thousand items is a warehouse. Fifty pieces you can vouch for is a shop.

What gets selected

The criteria are simple in principle and exacting in practice: design merit, condition, and story. A piece with an interesting pattern in excellent condition will always earn its place. A piece that is merely old will not.

The eras that speak most clearly to this vision — Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Victorian, Edwardian, and classic English manufacture — are the ones most represented here. Not because other eras are less interesting, but because these are the ones Rimma knows best and can speak to honestly.

Sourcing philosophy

Most pieces arrive from estate sales and private collections in Southern Ontario. Each one is cleaned and examined carefully. Condition is described honestly — normal vintage wear is noted, chips and cracks are disclosed. Nothing is hidden.

The goal is to find pieces that deserve a second life on a real table — not to sit in a cabinet, but to be used. The good china is for Tuesday, too.

On quality

Every listing on Etsy and every product page on this site has been written, photographed, and priced by Rimma. There is no dropshipping, no bulk sourcing, no algorithmic selection. This is a small shop, and that is the point.
